Residential Wind Turbine: (Small Wind Energy Systems) - Type 1 Training


Description

The following are basic requirements that must be met to participate in this grant program, the participant must:
 
     
1.      Must have a valid Colorado/Wyoming driver’s license or State ID
      2.      Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident
      3.      Must be enrolled at a Workforce Center or be a Union Member
4.   All male participants must be registered with Selective Service

Residential Wind Turbine Course Description: The course covers all elements of planning, siting, designing and installing small wind energy systems. The course will make sure to address each element of the current NABCEP task analysis in anticipation of potential certifications in the future. A special section on large wind energy systems will be included, and hands-on segments will be incorporated throughout as practicable.
Upon successful completion of the course, Advanced Energy Systems, LLC, will issue a Certificate of Wind Energy Technology and Small Wind Installation.
 
Pre-requisites include:
  • High school education or GED
  • English language proficiency (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Mathematics and science basic proficiency
  • Preferred capability in basic algebra, trigonometry and geometry
  • Preferred capability in electricity and circuits
  • Preferred capability in basic construction and tool usage
