The following are basic requirements that must be met to participate in this grant program, the participant must:
1. Must have a valid Colorado/Wyoming driver’s license or State ID
2. Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident
3. Must be enrolled at a Workforce Center or be a Union Member
4. All male participants must be registered with Selective Service

Fundamentals of Energy Efficiency Course Description: This course was designed to introduce trainees to the technology and processes associated with residential energy efficiency auditing & installation. The trainees will receive foundational knowledge and hands-on training from industry experts that prepares them for entry-level efficiency work. The course curriculum will cover ‘best practices’ in auditing and reporting procedures for recommend improvements to residential energy usage. Furthermore, the course will provide trainees with first-hand experience of the most common efficiency installation techniques, such as insulating, air sealing, weather-stripping, and identification of electrical wasters. Graduates will receive a certificate of completion from iCAST. (Prerequisite to BPI Certification Course)
Prerequisites:
• 2-3 years construction experience preferred
• Interest in the Energy Efficiency Field, e.g., auditing/installations
• 8th grade math skills (Algebra)
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable with crawling around in crawl spaces, attics and other confined spaces
• Driver’s License & Transportation
• Felony convictions may preclude you from some employment opportunities in this industry.
