Holiday Greetings

Dear Friends and Supporters:

Labor's Community Agency operates on charitable gifts and like so many other organizations and individuals, we are hurting more than ever this year. With the downturn in the economy and continued job loss, our needs have greatly increased. Labor's Community Agency is depending on a generous response from you and other union and community members to assist us so that we are able to continue to help the many individuals and families that we serve each year that are in crisis or need.

Labor's Community Agency appreciates your continued generosity and hope that you will participate in our efforts. You may mail your donations to the above address or go to the donations page and click 'Make a Donation'. This is a secure site set up through PayPal. Your support is needed and valued!

Wishing you and your family a Happy Holiday Season
and a Prosperous New Year.
Thank you for all your support and dedication in 2009.

Rudolph's Toy Roundup

Labor's Community Agency is asking for your help this holiday season in collecting toys for the children of out of work union families, and the underprivileged. Please help us by donating new unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Please don't forget older children in need with such items as CD's and gift cards to such businesses as Best Buy and Target. We could also use gift cards for King Soopers and Safeway to help out the parents. We will be collecting items through December 18 at the above address. If you need items to be picked up, you may call us at 303-744-6169 and we will be happy to pick them up for you.

Food Pantry

Labor's Community Agency recently started a small food pantry at our location. Due to the severe changes in the economy and continuing job loss, there has been an unexpected usage of the program. We would appreciate donations of non-perishable food items, diapers, formula, etc., so that we are able to continue to help our union members, their families, and the community during their time of crisis or need. Please bring your donations to the above address or if you need items to be picked up, you may call us at 303-744-6169.

Personal Care Item Drive

Labor's Community Agency is hosting our annual Personal Care Item Drive for the Denver Area Homeless, through December 23. Items that are needed, but not limited to are: soap, shampoo, toothpaste, shaving cream, etc. Sample products are welcome. Please bring your items to the above address, or if you are unable to drop in, please call 303-744-6169 and we would be happy to come and pick your donation up.

Vehicle Donation Program

Labor's Community Agency (LCA) has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado to accept your used vehicle as a donation if you live in the Denver metro area, Colorado Springs, or Pueblo.  You can deduct the fair market value if you itemize on your tax form.  When you donate a vehicle through LCA, the Agency receives a percentage of the gross sale of the vehicle.  The percentage received will help LCA continue the programs and services for our families in crisis and need.  In addition, you will be helping Big Brothers Big Sisters with mentoring programs for children in need of a consistent, caring friend.

Cell Phone Drop Off

Are your old cell phones taking over your home?

Want to dispose of them in a safe manner?

Then drop them off at Labor's Community Agency!

Labor's Community Agency is currently the only Agency in the state of Colorado accepting your old cell phones for recycling.

Donating your phone to Labor's Community Agency helps us further our mission by helping us raise funds so we can continue to serve the community. As Labor's Community Agency is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, you may be eligible for a tax deduction for your in-kind donation.

Donating your mobile phone so it can be recycled is important, because mobile phones contain toxic elements like Mercury, Cadmium, Lead, and other poisonous materials that shouldn't be thrown into a landfill. Reuse is the best form of recycling, and this is our focus. If your phone cannot be reused, it will be recycled for its metals and plastics in accordance with federal and local environmental standards.

You may drop off your cell phones at Labor's Community Agency, 7510 West Mississippi Avenue, Suite #230, or call (303) 744--6169 and we will be happy to pick them up. (Any type of cell phone, regardless of age or condition, is accepted. If available, please include the battery.)
